Working Group Communication NetworksThe main research focus of the ComNets group at the University of Bremen is performance analysis of communication networks and their protocols. This includes the implementation of prototypes as well as performance studies by mathematical analysis and simulation. The main keywords are: mobility support, mobile communications, wireless communications, simulation technology, rare event simulation, teletraffic engineering. Research projects are mainly funded by national and international government institutions and direct industry collaborations. The group around C. Görg consists of about 10 fully employed predoctoral and postdoctoral research associates, a small technical and assisting team and many students working as student workers or doing their thesis.

National and international guests as well as ComNets employees congratulated Prof. Görg with a ceremony, international lunch and a Festschrift.
Prof. Dr.-Ing Andreas Timm-GielDr.-Ing. Andreas Timm-Giel has been appointed as Professor at the Technical University of Hamburg-Harburg at the institute for Communication Networks kontakt.tu-harburg.de/de/gen/E-4.html from the 1st of November. After serving ComNets for more than 6 years, supervising numerous theses, impressive 119 business trips, the team of ComNets Bremen is loosing one of its most valued colleagues.
